ALL THE NEWS THAT IS NEWS

MID-AMERICA
CHICAGO - Former Clear Channel CEO Randy Michaels brings new live to Tribune Broadcasting as its new EVP/CEO. Randy lures three of his CC associates to unite with him at his new honcho post at Tribune. John Hogan CC's CEO tells us that Jerry Kersting CC's CFO, Marc Chase CC's SVP/Programming and Steve Gable CC's VP/Information Technology exit to join Michaels at Tribune. Kersting's CFO spot remains vacant. Jeff Rice CC's Radio VP/Finance moves on up to SVP/Finance & Accounting and covers Jerry's financial responsibilities. Randall Mays CC's President/CFO takes control of Kersting's role in CC's merger and acquisitions operations. Charlie Rahilly CEO of Premiere Radio Networks takes Kersting's role over Viero and RCS divisions. Gable's duties are now spread out amongst other current staff. A search is underway to replace Chase's SVP/Programming commitments. Sean Compton former CC head of programming moves on over to Tribune as SVP/Programming & Entertainment.

EAST COAST
BRIDGEPORT, CT - John Labraca 20-year vet on Aurora Communications Talk WICC-600 exits morning drive. Tony Reno leaps over from mornings on Cox Talk WSTC-1400 Stamford, CT as his replacement.

NEW YORK - Phil Boyce VP of news/talk programming at Citadel talk WABC-770 NYC says WABC's 5.2 share 12+ in February is the highest in the station's history as a talker, with the No. 1 TSL in the market and cume of over 1.4 million. We felt we were having a great month due to Super Tuesday and all the breaking news, but the diary did not always reflect audience movement that quickly. Phil says PPM's sensitivity is great for our format, where breaking news can result in big spikes. WABC-770 ranks #3 overall and #1 in men 18+. Don Imus, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin all come in at #3 for 12+. Sean Hannity is #4. Boyce adds, For eight hours straight, Rush, Sean and Mark all score in the mid- to upper-5-share range 12+. What great consistency.

WEST COAST
CUPERTINO, CA - Apple's iTunes Stores beats Wal-Mart as America's top music retailer. Apple quotes figures from the NPD Group's MusicWatch survey. Eddy Cue iTunes VP brags We launched iTunes less than five years ago, and it has now become the number one music retailer in the world. We are thrilled and would like to thank all of our customers for helping us to reach this incredible milestone. iTunes Stores sell more than 4 billion songs to over 50 million customers all around the globe. Market researcher NPD Group's MusicWatch survey reports that based on the amount of music sold in January & February 2008 iTunes is the top U.S. music retailer.
