WAYNE GRAHAM (Niles, MI) Hi Jim, I asked you some time ago if you had any info. on Larry Glick an all night Dj I use to listen to out of WBZ Boston and you were kind enough to give me what you had, tonight while going through some old tapes I had taken off the radio 30 years or more ago I found the one and only old cassette tape that I thought had been destroyed and Larry is interviewing a guy who still made and sold "SNAKE OIL" like the old medicine shows and of course crazy people are calling in to the show. Well Just thought I would pass this on because it sure brings back memories of when I was a kid here in Michigan and on a clear night during a Michigan summer while the other kids were asleep I was listening to Larry Glick. BOB GRANT [Robert Hanger] (Houston-Jersey Village, TX) Subject: Jim Rose Remembers Radio (#596-31) December 17, 2008 [Wednesday]. RE:your JRRR#596, 12/17; You certainly bring back memories often. Bill Lowery of Atlanta (producer/booker of Classics 1V) was a good friend indeed. He always attended annual DJ Conv in Nashville. He was the youngest A-M radio station MGR in a major market in the nation at age 21 (Atlanta) & later became a music publisher, record producer & head of his own talent booking agency. I personally booked recording artists such as Johnny Tillotson, Kris Jensen, Billy Joe Royal, The Tams & Tommy Roe from his office. Lowery became a legend in Atlanta music circles; sadly Bill Lowery died on June 8, 2004. You were also a fan (as I) of The Drifters & I had the opportunity to bring them on stage on several dates; sadly the last surviving member of original Drifters, Bill Pinkney, died on July 4, 2007 @ 81 in his hotel room at Daytona Beach. GEORGE LESTER (Palestine-Elkhart, TX) Hi Jim, I have been enjoying reading about the old gang from San Antoio radio and TV. I'm glad to know so many are still among the living. Maybe one of your readers can help me. In 1966 and 1967 when I worked a KBAT in San Antonio my best friend was a deejay named Tom Kelly (his real name). He did the seven to midnight shift and had a sidekick he called "The Count". He was an in the airforce while he worked for KBAT and when he was discharged he went back to his home state of Ohio. That is where the trail ended for me. After Googling my fingers off I have drawn a blank trying to find his whereabouts. Tom Kelly was a true friend in need and in deed. It would mean a great deal to me if anyone can tell me where he is now. Thanks, George

TRIVIA ANSWER: In the 1970s 3 members of Rock band Led Zeppelin have wives - Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. Out of all four Led Zeppelin muscians Jimmy Page is the only one who is single during the 1970s.

MIKE HARTMAN (Ft. Worth-Joshua, TX) Jim, As you know, from some of my e-mails, I'm a singer. So, this year my gift to my friends is going to be...me...me singing, that is. The song is called "Joseph's Song"...Joseph is asking God, "How Can A Man Be Father To The Son Of God?" I sang this song at the Rodeo City Music Hall, in Mesquite, TX, back in December of 2004. I make it a point to close my shows, during the Christmas season, with this song. The original version was recorded back in the 80's by the man who wrote it...Michael Card.
