MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM TEJAS AND JIM!
ALL THE NEWS THAT IS NEWS
NEWS CORPORATION CANCELS CHRISTMAS PARTY
Our nation's present state of the economy causes lots of cut-backs and lay-offs in radio and TV. Fox News Channel cancels its Christmas party. But we cannot keep a good bunch of news hounds down. Janice Dean, FNC's Weather Machine forecast prognosticator, gets the Fox crew together for their own private Christmas celebration which they call America's Newsroom/Happening Now/Live Desk Christmas party. Janice Dean's blog has some great photos of their celebration. ( http://weather.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/12/11/christmas-party-pictures/ )

DAN MCCURDY (Sherman, TX) While these can be tough, troubling and uncertain times, I think it is important, as we celebrate this joyous season, to remember we are ALL one. Remember how blessed we are to be connected to each other in some way or another, and that we are all in this thing called Life together. I wish all of you a blessed and prosperous Christmas Holiday season and the New Year to come. Life is too short, so remember to tell your loved ones how much you love them; it's a gift that cost nothing but is truly priceless. As my gift to you, I say, "I love you" … and I invite you to click on the link below, sit back, smile, sing and enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-TVg40ExM Merry Christmas and Happy New Year... Dan McCurdy and The Sherman, TX Gang: Kathryn, Mike, Peyton and Ryan... P.S. – please feel free to pass this message on to others
PARRIS AFTON BONDS (Dallas, TX) Jim, I must have missed a couple of your newletters, because I was unaware of your prostate problem. Know that you are in my prayers -- and I am absolutely positive we'll reconnect (again) after we make our transition! (www.parrisaftonbonds.com/)
FR. BOB TOMLINSON (Ft. Worth, TX) Jim you're in my thoughts a prayers for the appointment... May the doctor find surgery is not needed and other means can be found to bring relief. A blessed Christmas to you and Tejas and a Happy New Year. May it be better than 08. Bob Tomlinson
ARCH & JANET YANCEY (Houston-Alvin, TX) Jim Rose Remembers Radio Issue #596 Merry Christmas from Arch and Jan Yancey! Enjoy your newsletter. Look forward to another year of it.
BOB GREEN (Houston, TX) Oh Jim: So very sorry to hear about the prostate issue...I do hope you've had a second opinion. I've been lucky in that hi PSA etc. hasn't been cancer...but your comment on catheter brought tears to my eyes, Should you want a recommendation for a Dr. I have great faith in...e-mail me. In the meantime, as all this will allow...a blessed Christmas and Happier New Year. Bob Green
DWIGHT Shotgun COOK (Houston, TX) Subject: Hang in there big boy. Wow, sorry to hear about the old prostate. I have had several friends have the medication work for them. Did you see the movie "The World's Fastest Indian", starring Anthony Hopkins? In it he met a Native American who helpfully doled out powdered dog testicles as a remedy for his prostate problems. Not sure if that is not worse than the surgery. I’ll pray for you. His and yours, Dwight Cook (www.dwightcook.com)
CHET MAXWELL (San Antonio, TX) Dear Jim, I hope that you and Tejas have a very merry Christmas and a terrific 2009. You certainly deserve to have a good year. I hope that 2009 will be it. Chet Maxwell
GARY DELAUNE (San Antonio, TX) Jim: I don't know if you are having the radical cancer surgery but when I had the radium seeds implanted last December 10th, it was in at 6:30, out by noon...Of course, they didn't put in a catheter immediately and that caused problems but a year later, there is no trace of the cancer. My best to you and God is always there for us. God Bless you...and Merry Christmas although you might not think it is right now. Gary D. (www.garydnews.com)
FRANK HALEY (Albuquerque, NM) Jim, concerning the prostate surgery...or possible surgery. I had prostate removal in February, no cancer, but it had to come out, I was on a cath from Oct till Feb 12, They kept trying to get the thing to work, but "no flow" would ever happen. The prostate was so large it was closing down the tube. So, they cut it out, I was only in the Hospital for 4 days, off the cath in a week and half, healed up real quickly, I was off the cath. in 2 weeks, I am really glad I had the surgery. I really healed up fast. See if you can talk to someone who has used your Dr. and try to get a good report from former patients. Good luck, you'll feel a lot better after you get it removed. I'm all healed up. Frank (The Old Texan) Haley cjf Isa. 9:6 "When the sunshine of God's love meets the showers of our sorrow, the rainbow of promise appears."
BEN LAURIE (Dallas, TX) Merry Christmas To All... (www.naturesinspirationmovie.com/)
CHARLES GEORGE (Dallas, TX) Hi, I will be praying that your visit to the doctor/hospital goes the way it should and you recover. My favorite song by Clyde McPhatter has to be Lovers Question. I first heard it while attending Stephen F. Austin State University. There was a guy who played oldies on KTBC, I thought it was Brook Benton only later did I learn the truth when here in Dallas I called KLIF 1190 and a cool announcer said he did not know of a recording by Brook Benton but... A few minutes later he plays it and mentions the artist, etc. Even though it has ben said many times before, Merry Christmas. Charles George
TRIVIA ANSWER: Country group Dixie Chicks get their name from the song Dixie Chicken by Lowell George of Rock band Little Feat.
GEORGE LESTER (Palestine-Elkhart, TX) Season’s Greetings! To All My Democrat Family and Friends: Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country, nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wish. To My Conservative Southern Patriotic Family and Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
JAY LENO (April 28, 1950-p) The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
