COMCAST WANTS NBC NOW
Comcast Cable Communications which is the largest U.S. cable service provider wants its 51%-49% partnership deal done for the purchase of NBCU by November 2009. Insiders indicate that Steve Burke, Comcast's COO and Comcast Cable Communications President, would replace [NBCU CEO Jeff] Zucker after a short period of time. The deal depends on whether French conglomerate Vivendi goes along with the proposal for Comcast to buy most of NBCU from General Electric. This hinges on whether Vivendi gets as much as it thinks it should for its 20% minority stake. The options include a sale back to GE to register it for an IPO or to keep it for another year.

I'm gonna be preaching at Grace United Methodist Church, I-30 West at Clover Lane in Fort Worth this coming Sunday (Oct. 18th) at 10:50 am. I'd love to have all my friends in the DFW area come by (and even mine enemies!) The sermon is "The importance of Grace." There'll be a covered dish lunch afterwards. TRIVIA ANSWER: To the surprise of many, the novelty tune Witch Doctor by David Seville tops the Billboard R&B chart for one week in May, 1958.
DR. JEFF CUNNINGHAM (Austin-Kyle, TX) I have to give you props, Jim. If my doctor told me he was going to stick a rod up my ****** and turn on a searing hot blazing inferno that would burn my prostate like a fiery furnace straight from hell, and that would somehow make me feel better, I would kick his butt on the spot and leave...without paying the bill. Here's to you getting well FAST. Because if they did that to you as the FIRST thing, I would hate to consider what that doctor would be doing as an alternative that happens to be more invasive and painful. Chins up, my friend. Jeff Cunningham, DC (www.zoesplaceclinic.com) / (www.myspace.com/drjeffcunningham)
RONALD REAGAN (To surgeons as he enters the operating room on March 30, 1981.) I hope you're all Republicans.
