Jim's voice is also on the air in Hartford, New York, and Tampa. He goes from WFIL-560 to WABC-770 to Toronto's CHUM-1050 then back to Philadelphia. Nettleton performs voiceovers for commercials plus radio station liners. Jim is also active in syndication and program production. NEW ORLEANS TV INVESTIGATOR RETIRES
WDSU TV CH6 I-Team senior investigative reporter Richard Angelico retires from full-time duty on Thursday, October 15, 2009 when he becomes involved in a nonprofit venture that helps injured police officers and firefighters in southeast Louisiana. The Loyola University graduate originally turns his sights onto journalism when legendary newsman Alec Gifford hires him to write and produce news content for the then WVUE TV CH12. Richard joins WDSU TV in 1983 after 15 years of broadcasting in New Orleans. Rafael Goyeneche, head of the Metropolitan Crime Commission, remembers If you look in the dictionary, it probably has Richard Angelico's picture there...because I think he's set the bar for investigative reporting in New Orleans.

JOYCE WEBSTER [J.C.] (Mena, AR) Didn't know Mr. Houston personally, but he sure sounds like a special man. I'm sure he knew he was loved and appreciated, but the emails you printed today were very moving. When I thought I was losing a dear friend and former boss from my radio days, I told him I loved him...had never done that. I make it a point to tell friends and family how much they mean to me now. Have prayed for his family and friends that they will find peace in knowing he isn't suffering, and that he will never really leave them as they have all those wonderful memories. JC
JIM TRAVIS [Jo] (Hot Springs, AR) Ron Houston and I worked together at KBUC. Did you know that he carried a bag of dog food in his car in case he came across a hungry stray? You've got to be a cut above to do that. (
DAVID DOERR (Biloxi, MS) Jim, I used to listen to Ron Houston, Allen Grimm, Nick St John, Sam Kindrick, Bobby Reyes, and so many others on San Antonio's KEXL back in the mid 70's. Years later I listened to Ron during the early days of KFAN. He used to say, "Keep the FAN blowing". Two years ago he called to thank me for having made the recording of KEXL’s last three hours. He wanted me to know he had just received the "KEXL is Dead" double CD which had been produced from that recording. It was a thrill to hear "The Voice" talking to me. I received that call on my cell phone as I was enjoying the view from the scenic overlook of the Hwy 90 bridge over the Pecos River. But the only time I ever met Ron was at Nick St John’s Memorial Service in San Antonio last year. I had helped Bobby Reyes navigate up the hill from the parking lot to the Memorial site in San Antonio Gardens and was returning to my car to get my camera. On my return, halfway back up the hill with camera in hand, I spotted a fellow in a white shirt and white hat that was obviously a little "winded". I asked him if I could help him. He smiled and said, "I’m just taking a little rest here". That voice gave him away. I smiled because I knew it was Ron. I shook his hand, told him I was the one who had made the "KEXL is Dead" recording and offered my assistance. As we walked up the hill together I joked about how his voice had given him away. He was amused, as if he had heard that many times before. He replied "Yeah, even if I robbed a Texas bank with a ski mask on they’d know it was me as soon as I opened my mouth". Rest in Peace Ron, you were a really good man! David A Doerr Biloxi, MS, USA

DAN MCCURDY (Sherman-Denison, TX) Thanks for the progress report, Jim...I shudder when I think of the discomfort you've endured, and the visual conjured up by the bag filling with blood is just horrifying. TIME will heal your challenge, and the pain will disappear. Just think how blessedly wonderful that will be. Visualize the freedom from discomfort, and let THAT be the focus of your thoughts...just see this interim time as the last minute of an 800 meter run; the finish line is right ahead of you, buddy. Dan McCurdy
FR. BOB TOMLINSON (Ft. Worth-Hurst, TX) Jim I continue to keep you in prayer and I’m with the others, there was no reason you should have been awake for the procedure. I talked with my urologist this week and he said no way should you have been left awake. Change doctors. Bob Tomlinson

JOE FORD (Houston-Spring, TX) Hey Jim, Almost every male I've known over the years has had some sort of prostate issue, including me. The last biopsy I had was negative, thank the dear lord, but it was completely painless. The stories of your experience are unimaginable! Who is this clown that allows you to suffer with the painful treatment you describe? Next time you see him, take along a small branding iron and tell him to bend over! Best of luck, bud...as always. Joe Ford
JOHN HALE (Austin-Cedar Park, TX) Jim, Whoever came up with the idea for prostates needs to be tarred and feathered. From one sufferer to another, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Count me in also as one who questions the idea of keeping you awake during the procedure. I would want industrial strength meds to knock me out. I hope you get completely well and pain-free, really soon. Yours Truly, John Hale, Mobile Magic Music (33.Music) "We're at the best parties!"
