SPORTSCASTER HIT WITH $1M ALIMONY Bridgeport Superior Court Judge Howard Owens rules that CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz, who admits to an affair with a 29-year-old woman, has to pay $1 million a year in alimony and child support to his ex-wife. Nantz tells the court of his wife's lavish spending sprees that includes a $70,000 country club membership. His divorce settlement costs him nearly $1 million a year in alimony and child support, two Connecticut homes and his wife's $70,000 country club membership. The court order also covers the college costs of his 15-year-old daughter that ends his 26-year marriage. The judge orders Jim to pay his ex-wife, Lorrie, $916,000 annually. She also keeps their six-bedroom Westport home plus a nearby condo where her mother lives. Court documents indicate that the 50 year old Nantz earns $3.2 million a year from CBS.
TRIVIA QUESTION: We remember Gospel quartet the Jordanaires who sing back up on over 360 of Elvis Presley's songs. Is that their only back up work? The answer appears below.

ATTILA HONEY Jim, Thanks so much. We just wrapped up another new show which airs on Sunday. This one is really out there. We introduced another character: Born again Mrs. Goldfarb who can’t see and thinks she’s on MSNBC. We do get serious however and the topic is: Is Obama the reincarnation of Narcissus? (No! he already is) I was so thrilled to get
www.FrogTownSoundCards.com as a sponsor and as we go along – I think it will be a good mix because they have a great product. Anyway what can I say to you outside of thanks for your friendship and support! Jen has told me much about you – how you are a treasure house of help to others – and have seen little on your end. Well, Jim, you are a survivor and hang in there. Did I tell you that Jen grows more ornery by the day? I think when the good Lord made her, he made her out of p*** and vinegar. That’s what Uncle Sam Honey says about me! Yur fren Attila Ps: think about what I said about writing an article about radio for Temerity Magazine. I submit my blogs and the next one comes out at the end of this month. It’s every other month.CHAD EVERSON (Minneapolis-St Cloud-Princeton, MN) Jim, These Archives are marvelous! http://web.archive.org/web/20050320103555/home.earthlink.net/~rosekkkj/jimroseremembers/id5.html I am still chuckling about the Amazon and Chunky! Oh, I bet there are some fun stories there! It reminds me of this song: www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSiYlCyag The Radio DJ vocation really is one of a minstrel’s life. I really enjoyed that, and will have to dig in deeper to your archives! Thanks for the link! DEBORAH JOHNSON [Senior VP Marketing KERA] (Dallas, TX) Subject: KERA Acquires 91.7 FM. The opportunity to purchase the station was presented to KERA in 2007 by PRC (Public Radio Capital), a national nonprofit organization that works to strengthen public radio. "Rarely do non-commercial radio licenses become available," according to Erik Langner, Director of Acquisitions at PRC. "The greater Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area has only three full-market FM non-commercial FCC licenses: KERA 90.1 FM, 91.7 FM, and one other. The availability of 91.7 FM was an extremely rare opportunity and we immediately thought of KERA. There exists a very strong relationship between KERA and the communities it serves over the air and online. Also of significant consideration were KERA’s strong financial position and experienced senior management."

TRIVIA ANSWER: In addition to over 360 of Elvis Presley's songs the Jordanaires also sing back-up on 30,000 other recordings.
BOB GRANT [Robert Hanger] (Houston-Jersey Village, TX) Ran into an interesting bit of info recently...you may wish to check out or already know this: Johnnie & Jack & Tennessee Mtn. Boys had first of many chart hits (1951-62) with a #4 hit on RCA 1/51: "Poison Love." I learned the writer of that song was an Elmer Laird, auto-dealer in Houston on KLEE! (Johnnie Wright, B 5/13/14-p & married to singer Kitty Wells; Jack Anglin, 5/13/16 to 3/7/63...killed in car crash enroute to Patsy Cline's Memorial Svc in Nashville). Seems like a local bit of interest there indeed. Ironically, I was once a DJ on WLEE, Huntington, WVA & got to meet Johnnie & Jack at several shows, along with Kitty (Wells) in mid-50's. Ever heard of Brother Laird?? BOB
JOHNNIE & JACK'S Poison Love is another one of my favorite tunes. It first hits the Billboard Country chart on January 20, 1951, reaches #4 and remains on the survey for 17 weeks. But their biggest record is (Oh Baby Mine) I Get So Lonely. It lands in Billboard on April 10, 1954, zooms to #1 and remains on the survey for 18 weeks. From 1951-58 Johnnie & Jack have a total of 8 recordings that reach the Top 10. From 1954-56 they have 4 songs in the Top 15. From 1958-62 three records reach the Top 20. From 1954-62 Johnnie Wright & Jack Anglin have a grand total of 15 recordings that reach the Top 20 on Billboard's Country chart. All of their hits are on RCA except the last one which is on Decca records. Jack Anglin tragically dies in a car crash on March 7, 1963 at only 48. Johnny Wright continues on as a solo act. His biggest hit is Hello Vietnam that reaches #1 in the fall of 1965. He has 2 recordings that land in the Top 30. One at #22 and the other at #28 for a total 5 that appear in the Top 40 Country chart. All of Johnny Wright's hits are on Decca records but they drop him in 1970 and he never has another national chart record. Another interesting fact is that Johnny Wright marries Country music legend Kitty Wells. Their two children are successful recording artists, too. Bobby Wright has 21 songs that are on Billboard's Country chart. His biggest record is Here I Go Again at #13 in 1971. From 1967-79 he has 21 records on Billboard. Also, Bobby plays Willy Moss on TV's McHale's Navy. His sister Ruby Wright's biggest record is Dern Ya at #13 in 1964. It's an answer song to Roger Miller's huge #1 hit Dang Me. Ruby has 3 records that land on Billboard.
CHENG SIWEI (June 1935-p) The US spends tomorrow's money today. We Chinese spend today's money tomorrow. That's why we have this financial crisis.
